# Rar Sharp vs PDFer

The clearest difference is rating: PDFer at 5.0 against Rar Sharp's 3.3. PDFer also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months). Rar Sharp's advantage is ratings volume (65 vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rar Sharp sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PDFer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDFer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rar Sharp has 65 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Rar Sharp ships an update every 3 months, PDFer every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 14, 2026 respectively.
