# Rar Sharp vs Call Recorder

The clearest difference is rating: Call Recorder at 4.3 against Rar Sharp's 3.3. Call Recorder also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (732 vs 65). Rar Sharp's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (51% vs 26%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rar Sharp sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Call Recorder sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Call Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Call Recorder has 732 ratings behind it against 65, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Rar Sharp's written reviews are positive against 26% of Call Recorder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rar Sharp ships an update every 3 months, Call Recorder every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
