# PDF Converter vs PDF Document Scanner Editor

PDF Converter and PDF Document Scanner Editor both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of PDF Converter's written reviews are positive against 0% of PDF Document Scanner Editor's. PDF Converter also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 39 months). PDF Document Scanner Editor's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Converter sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and PDF Document Scanner Editor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Document Scanner Editor holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Converter has 6K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of PDF Converter's written reviews are positive against 0% of PDF Document Scanner Editor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Converter ships an update fortnightly, PDF Document Scanner Editor every 39 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
