# PDF Converter vs Image scanner

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Converter at 4.4 against Image scanner's 3.8. PDF Converter also leads on ratings volume (6K vs 6) and device support (4 vs 2). Image scanner's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (83% vs 67%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Converter sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Image scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Converter holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Converter has 6K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of PDF Converter's written reviews are positive against 83% of Image scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Converter ships an update fortnightly, Image scanner every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
