# PDF Converter vs Scan 2 PDF

The clearest difference is rating: Scan 2 PDF at 5.0 against PDF Converter's 4.4. Scan 2 PDF also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (100% vs 67%). PDF Converter's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (6K vs 2). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Converter sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scan 2 PDF sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scan 2 PDF holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Converter has 6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of PDF Converter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scan 2 PDF's.

PDF Converter ships an update fortnightly, Scan 2 PDF every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and June 4, 2026 respectively.
