# Frequency vs SonicTonic

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Frequency at 2.4K against SonicTonic's 11. Frequency also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 71%). SonicTonic's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Frequency sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and SonicTonic sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Frequency holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Frequency has 2.4K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Frequency's written reviews are positive against 71% of SonicTonic's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
