# PicWords™ vs The Odd One Out

The clearest difference is ads: The Odd One Out at none against PicWords™'s shown. The Odd One Out also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). PicWords™'s advantage is update cadence (every 5 months vs every 10 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PicWords™ sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and The Odd One Out sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PicWords™ ships an update every 5 months, The Odd One Out every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
