# PicWords™ vs Spell Game+

The clearest difference is update cadence: Spell Game+ at fortnightly against PicWords™'s every 5 months. PicWords™'s advantage is ratings volume (124 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PicWords™ sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Spell Game+ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spell Game+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PicWords™ has 124 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PicWords™ ships an update every 5 months, Spell Game+ fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
