# ABC Contacts vs Group SMS

The clearest difference is ads: Group SMS at none against ABC Contacts's shown. Group SMS also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ABC Contacts sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year and Group SMS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
