# ABC Contacts vs Group SMS

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ABC Contacts at 87% against Group SMS's 25%. ABC Contacts also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 4). Group SMS's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ABC Contacts sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year and Group SMS sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ABC Contacts holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ABC Contacts has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 87% of ABC Contacts's written reviews are positive against 25% of Group SMS's.

ABC Contacts ships an update every 2 months, Group SMS fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
