# Flashback vs Routine Planner

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flashback at none against Routine Planner's 4. Flashback also leads on review sentiment (76% vs 45%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). Routine Planner's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (39 vs 7). On price, rating and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Routine Planner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Flashback asks for nothing beyond the download.

Routine Planner holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Routine Planner has 39 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Flashback's written reviews are positive against 45% of Routine Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flashback ships an update every 2 months, Routine Planner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
