# Aena vs ArchiMaps

The clearest difference is rating: Aena at 4.4 against ArchiMaps's 3.7. Aena also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (223 vs 6). ArchiMaps's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 18%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Aena holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aena has 223 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Aena's written reviews are positive against 50% of ArchiMaps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aena ships an update every 9 days, ArchiMaps every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
