# Aena vs Darija Lingo

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Aena at none against Darija Lingo's 5. Aena also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (225 vs 7). Darija Lingo's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 18%). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Darija Lingo sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Aena asks for nothing beyond the download.

Aena holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aena has 225 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Aena's written reviews are positive against 50% of Darija Lingo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aena ships an update every 2 weeks, Darija Lingo every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
