# Congas! vs Real Percussion

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Real Percussion at 1.7K against Congas!'s 27. Real Percussion also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.2). Congas!'s advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Congas! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Real Percussion sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Real Percussion holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Real Percussion has 1.7K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Congas!'s written reviews are positive against 53% of Real Percussion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Congas! ships an update every 9 days, Real Percussion every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
