# Bitface vs Tape

The clearest difference is rating: Bitface at 3.2 against Tape's 1.0. Bitface also leads on review sentiment (51% vs 14%) and ratings volume (13 vs 2). Tape's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bitface sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Tape asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bitface holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bitface has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of Bitface's written reviews are positive against 14% of Tape's.

Bitface ships an update every 3 months, Tape weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
