# 3sat vs WDR 3

The clearest difference is rating: WDR 3 at 5.0 against 3sat's 3.8. WDR 3 also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). 3sat's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WDR 3 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of 3sat's written reviews are positive against 59% of WDR 3's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

3sat ships an update every 5 months, WDR 3 every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
