# 3sat vs MDR Audio

The clearest difference is rating: MDR Audio at 5.0 against 3sat's 3.8. MDR Audio also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). 3sat's advantage is review sentiment (66% vs 52%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MDR Audio holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of 3sat's written reviews are positive against 52% of MDR Audio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

3sat ships an update every 5 months, MDR Audio every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
