# République vs The Complex

République and The Complex both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 70% of République's written reviews are positive against 46% of The Complex's. République also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (999 vs 187). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. République sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and The Complex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Complex holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: République has 999 ratings behind it against 187, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of République's written reviews are positive against 46% of The Complex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

République ships an update monthly, The Complex every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
