# Design Lab vs Poster Generator

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Design Lab at 6.3K against Poster Generator's 172. Poster Generator's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Design Lab sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Poster Generator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Design Lab against 4.7 for Poster Generator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Design Lab has 6.3K ratings behind it against 172, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Design Lab's written reviews are positive against 78% of Poster Generator's.

Design Lab ships an update every 2 months, Poster Generator every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
