# Igbo101 vs LingoDeer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Igbo101 at free with in-app purchases against LingoDeer's subscription. Igbo101 also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 77%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). LingoDeer's advantage is ratings volume (28K vs 8) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Igbo101 sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and LingoDeer sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LingoDeer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LingoDeer has 28K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Igbo101's written reviews are positive against 77% of LingoDeer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Igbo101 ships an update every 2 months, LingoDeer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
