# TrueFire Guitar Lessons vs Academy Plus

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TrueFire Guitar Lessons at 58% against Academy Plus's 0%. TrueFire Guitar Lessons also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Academy Plus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 23) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TrueFire Guitar Lessons sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per month. Academy Plus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Academy Plus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TrueFire Guitar Lessons has 15K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of TrueFire Guitar Lessons's written reviews are positive against 0% of Academy Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TrueFire Guitar Lessons ships an update every 2 months, Academy Plus every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
