# PURE vs SMS 2Number

The clearest difference is rating: PURE at 4.3 against SMS 2Number's 3.0. PURE also leads on review sentiment (28% vs 0%) and ratings volume (85K vs 2). SMS 2Number's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PURE sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and SMS 2Number sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PURE holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PURE has 85K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 28% of PURE's written reviews are positive against 0% of SMS 2Number's.

PURE ships an update every 11 days, SMS 2Number every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and August 30, 2026 respectively.
