# Airplane! vs Subway Train Simulator

The clearest difference is ads: Airplane! at none against Subway Train Simulator's shown. Airplane! also leads on ratings volume (5.4K vs 244) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Subway Train Simulator's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (85% vs 76%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Airplane! sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Subway Train Simulator sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Airplane! against 4.3 for Subway Train Simulator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Airplane! has 5.4K ratings behind it against 244, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 76% of Airplane!'s written reviews are positive against 85% of Subway Train Simulator's.

Airplane! ships an update every 3 months, Subway Train Simulator every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
