# HearingAmp Lite vs Giant Ear

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HearingAmp Lite at none against Giant Ear's 2. HearingAmp Lite also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (40% vs 25%). Giant Ear's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 25 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Giant Ear sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. HearingAmp Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

Giant Ear holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Giant Ear has 148 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of HearingAmp Lite's written reviews are positive against 25% of Giant Ear's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HearingAmp Lite ships an update every 25 months, Giant Ear every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
