# Avira Mobile Security vs TotalAV

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Avira Mobile Security at 67% against TotalAV's 24%. TotalAV's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (72K vs 4.7K). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Avira Mobile Security sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and TotalAV sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TotalAV holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TotalAV has 72K ratings behind it against 4.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Avira Mobile Security's written reviews are positive against 24% of TotalAV's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Avira Mobile Security ships an update monthly, TotalAV every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
