# Avira Mobile Security vs Malwarebytes

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Avira Mobile Security at 67% against Malwarebytes's 48%. Avira Mobile Security also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Malwarebytes's advantage is ratings volume (111K vs 4.6K) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Avira Mobile Security sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Malwarebytes sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Malwarebytes holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Malwarebytes has 111K ratings behind it against 4.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Avira Mobile Security's written reviews are positive against 48% of Malwarebytes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Avira Mobile Security ships an update monthly, Malwarebytes every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
