# Avira Mobile Security vs AVG Mobile Security

The clearest difference is rating: AVG Mobile Security at 4.7 against Avira Mobile Security's 4.3. AVG Mobile Security also leads on ratings volume (78K vs 4.7K) and chart position (#172 vs unranked). Avira Mobile Security's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 59%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Avira Mobile Security sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and AVG Mobile Security sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AVG Mobile Security holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AVG Mobile Security has 78K ratings behind it against 4.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Avira Mobile Security's written reviews are positive against 59% of AVG Mobile Security's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Avira Mobile Security ships an update monthly, AVG Mobile Security every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
