# Access Perks vs Matco Tools

The clearest difference is rating: Matco Tools at 4.7 against Access Perks's 3.2. Matco Tools also leads on ratings volume (5.2K vs 82). Access Perks's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (51% vs 35%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Matco Tools holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matco Tools has 5.2K ratings behind it against 82, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Access Perks's written reviews are positive against 35% of Matco Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Access Perks ships an update every 3 weeks, Matco Tools every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
