# Filterloop vs Sparkle Cam

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sparkle Cam at free with in-app purchases against Filterloop's subscription. Sparkle Cam also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (87% vs 75%). Filterloop's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (13K vs 727). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Filterloop sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Sparkle Cam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sparkle Cam holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Filterloop has 13K ratings behind it against 727, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Filterloop's written reviews are positive against 87% of Sparkle Cam's.

Filterloop ships an update every 2 months, Sparkle Cam every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
