# CANAL+ vs Unlock!

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Unlock! at none against CANAL+'s 13. Unlock! also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.5). CANAL+'s advantage is rating (3.8 vs 3.3) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CANAL+ sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Unlock! asks for nothing beyond the download.

CANAL+ holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 516 and 242 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of CANAL+'s written reviews are positive against 38% of Unlock!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CANAL+ ships an update fortnightly, Unlock! every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
