# CANAL+ vs VDM

The clearest difference is rating: VDM at 4.6 against CANAL+'s 3.8. VDM also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 13) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.5). CANAL+'s advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (513 vs 5). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CANAL+ sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. VDM asks for nothing beyond the download.

VDM holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CANAL+ has 513 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of CANAL+'s written reviews are positive against 25% of VDM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CANAL+ ships an update fortnightly, VDM every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
