# CANAL+ vs Mapendo

The clearest difference is update cadence: CANAL+ at fortnightly against Mapendo's every 4 months. CANAL+ also leads on device support (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CANAL+ sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Mapendo sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CANAL+ ships an update fortnightly, Mapendo every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
