# VPN Unlimited vs TOR Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: VPN Unlimited at free with in-app purchases against TOR Browser's subscription. On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Unlimited sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and TOR Browser sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN Unlimited against 4.6 for TOR Browser. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 23K and 20K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of VPN Unlimited's written reviews are positive against 74% of TOR Browser's.

VPN Unlimited ships an update fortnightly, TOR Browser every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 8, 2026.
