# ChallengeRunner vs Metric Pro

The clearest difference is rating: Metric Pro at 5.0 against ChallengeRunner's 4.5. Metric Pro also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). ChallengeRunner's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (8.7K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Metric Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChallengeRunner has 8.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ChallengeRunner ships an update every 2 weeks, Metric Pro every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
