# ShotText vs iSky

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: iSky at none against ShotText's 1. iSky also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). ShotText's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (19 vs 3). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ShotText sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. iSky asks for nothing beyond the download.

ShotText holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ShotText has 19 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of ShotText's written reviews are positive against 100% of iSky's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ShotText ships an update every 2 weeks, iSky every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
