# Mobile UMB vs Booster Prep

The clearest difference is rating: Booster Prep at 4.8 against Mobile UMB's 4.0. Booster Prep also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (721 vs 5). Mobile UMB's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 61%) and in-app purchases (none vs 11). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Booster Prep sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Mobile UMB asks for nothing beyond the download.

Booster Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Booster Prep has 721 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Mobile UMB's written reviews are positive against 61% of Booster Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mobile UMB ships an update every 6 months, Booster Prep fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
