# OXYGEN vs Murder Maps

OXYGEN and Murder Maps both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of Murder Maps's written reviews are positive against 35% of OXYGEN's. Murder Maps also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). OXYGEN's advantage is ratings volume (17K vs 5) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for OXYGEN against 4.6 for Murder Maps. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OXYGEN has 17K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 35% of OXYGEN's written reviews are positive against 67% of Murder Maps's.

OXYGEN ships an update every 5 weeks, Murder Maps weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
