# Quicken Classic vs GasTec

The clearest difference is rating: Quicken Classic at 4.6 against GasTec's 2.6. Quicken Classic also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 10). GasTec's advantage is review sentiment (20% vs 12%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Quicken Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quicken Classic has 15K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 12% of Quicken Classic's written reviews are positive against 20% of GasTec's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Quicken Classic ships an update every 3 weeks, GasTec monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
