# Matterport vs Asteroom

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Asteroom at 82% against Matterport's 25%. Asteroom also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Matterport's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 4). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Asteroom sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Matterport asks for nothing beyond the download.

Matterport holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matterport has 4.2K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Matterport's written reviews are positive against 82% of Asteroom's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matterport ships an update monthly, Asteroom every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
