# Matterport vs The3DApp

The clearest difference is review sentiment: The3DApp at 78% against Matterport's 26%. The3DApp also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Matterport's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (4.2K vs 15). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Matterport holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matterport has 4.2K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Matterport's written reviews are positive against 78% of The3DApp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matterport ships an update monthly, The3DApp every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
