# ODOT Location Finder vs Virtual Compass º

The clearest difference is rating: Virtual Compass º at 4.6 against ODOT Location Finder's 3.8. Virtual Compass º also leads on ratings volume (308 vs 17) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). ODOT Location Finder's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Virtual Compass º holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Virtual Compass º has 308 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of ODOT Location Finder's written reviews are positive against 56% of Virtual Compass º's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ODOT Location Finder ships an update every 4 months, Virtual Compass º every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
