# PCN Select vs The Echo

The clearest difference is rating: The Echo at 4.4 against PCN Select's 2.0. The Echo also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). PCN Select's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Echo holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PCN Select has 50 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PCN Select ships an update every 2 months, The Echo every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
