# Spark NZ vs Lyca Mobile UK

The clearest difference is rating: Spark NZ at 3.5 against Lyca Mobile UK's 1.7. Spark NZ also leads on ratings volume (87 vs 16). Lyca Mobile UK's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Spark NZ holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spark NZ has 87 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of Spark NZ's written reviews are positive against 13% of Lyca Mobile UK's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spark NZ ships an update every 5 weeks, Lyca Mobile UK every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
