# Daily Notes Planner vs UpNote

The clearest difference is rating: UpNote at 4.7 against Daily Notes Planner's 3.0. UpNote also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 50%) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 9). Daily Notes Planner's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Daily Notes Planner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and UpNote sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

UpNote holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UpNote has 1.1K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Daily Notes Planner's written reviews are positive against 86% of UpNote's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
