# Weather Authority vs Weather View +

The clearest difference is ads: Weather View + at none against Weather Authority's shown. Weather View + also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Weather Authority's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Weather View + holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Weather Authority has 14K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Weather Authority ships an update every 3 months, Weather View + fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
