# Characterize vs Only SCP

Characterize and Only SCP both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 68% of Characterize's written reviews are positive against 50% of Only SCP's. Characterize also leads on ratings volume (344 vs 48). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Characterize sells 16 one-off in-app purchases and Only SCP sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Characterize against 4.2 for Only SCP. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Characterize has 344 ratings behind it against 48, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 68% of Characterize's written reviews are positive against 50% of Only SCP's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
