# MEGA vs TeraBox

The clearest difference is ads: TeraBox at none against MEGA's shown. TeraBox also leads on review sentiment (59% vs 46%) and device support (4 vs 2). MEGA's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (108K vs 19K). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MEGA sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month and TeraBox sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MEGA holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MEGA has 108K ratings behind it against 19K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of MEGA's written reviews are positive against 59% of TeraBox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MEGA ships an update every 2 weeks, TeraBox weekly. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
