# ContractorTools vs SimplyWise

The clearest difference is ads: ContractorTools at none against SimplyWise's shown. SimplyWise's advantage is ratings volume (36K vs 1.8K) and chart position (#10 vs #140). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ContractorTools sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and SimplyWise sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for ContractorTools against 4.8 for SimplyWise. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SimplyWise has 36K ratings behind it against 1.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 81% of ContractorTools's written reviews are positive against 77% of SimplyWise's.

ContractorTools ships an update every 5 weeks, SimplyWise monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
