# Steps vs StepSaga

The clearest difference is review sentiment: StepSaga at 100% against Steps's 68%. StepSaga also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Steps's advantage is ratings volume (134K vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and StepSaga sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepSaga holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steps has 134K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of Steps's written reviews are positive against 100% of StepSaga's.

Steps ships an update fortnightly, StepSaga every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
