# Freckle by Renaissance vs CAPIT Reading

The clearest difference is rating: CAPIT Reading at 4.4 against Freckle by Renaissance's 3.3. Freckle by Renaissance's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 0%) and ratings volume (511 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CAPIT Reading holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freckle by Renaissance has 511 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Freckle by Renaissance's written reviews are positive against 0% of CAPIT Reading's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
